ABOUT

ABOUT

Casa Di Nonnas is owned by our patron Maurizio Mori and maintained by key members of the Mori family. Having lived in Sheffield for over 40 years, where Maurizio, Marco and Michela’s father; Moreno Mori (a restaurateur for more than 17 years), raised the family and taught them from the traditions and thinking of both English and Italian cultures. Both ways of life were ingrained upon the siblings at an early age. Maurizio explains that his mother, Leda Mori actively encouraged the family to embrace the cultural diversity of both nationalities. And so, with the family growing up around great Italian cooking and restaurants in and around England (and more specifically the South Yorkshire region), it’s no surprise that Maurizio followed in his father’s footsteps, seeking college education in both the UK (Sheffield) and Italy (Montecatini), to hone his culinary skills. Maurizio worked across Europe for 7 years in Switzerland / France / Austria and Italy (Montecatini)

As well as the Mori family pulling together, Maurizio employs a team of local people to look after the property. Whether it’s our cleaner Damina ensuring that the accommodation is kept spick and span, Giovanni tending to the gardens or Luigi keeping the pool clean for you, you can be sure that the Casa is kept looking welcoming and homely at all times. On top of this, throughout the year our Property Manager; Marilena works at the Casa in the capacity of a Greeter. She will meets with all guests and provide throughout the property. Marilena will also explain to guests about the area and suggested places to go around the area.
